Every 15-35km along the expressway are rest stops called Service or Parking Areas.
Rest stops are equipped with service functions such as business facilities, restaurants, snack bars, gas stations, and shopping corners as well as parking lots, picnic areas, public restrooms and places to rest that are free of charge. They are placed at roughly every 50-150 km.

Information Terminal
Information panels, televisions and terminals can be used to acquire information regarding traffic jams, accidents, time it will take to get places and all kinds of traffic information.

Concierge Service
The concierge can help with traffic information, provide information about business facilities or sightseeing, and deal with emergency situations. (Sometimes the situation can be handled in writing.)
